Reverse

You took feelings
Without asking

Twice

Or feeling

In reverse

A form of treason

Signs of a long war
That sucked everything up

Wasn't that fun

Nothing safe here, nothing sound

Drinky at the drunky

My hips are loose
Everything I've got
Is licks and trips

Bear on a stone
Horizons and moons
Break forward

Behind me is you
Falling

Announcing

I left my childhood
For other memories

The last lesson over
In the blue rain
We shake and sing

Seven saw the horizon
One wished it gone
Seven called out for more
One said take it slow

This is the story of
The time of
Announcing

Some words from my sponsor

I
want
you
to
want
what
you
don't
want
to
want
or
don't
know
how
to
want
or
never
wanted

I
want
you
to
be
promiscuous
with
wanting

Nasty
with
it

To
leer
over
it
and
lick
it

I
want
wanting
to
bleach
your
dreamscapes

To
be
your
sicko
star

etcetera

Given

Drawn by the heat, I stand by the door
My heart finds the place my head has ignored
The rain comes down and to my surprise
Everything I thought I'd forgiven
Is given

I move outside, towards the light
Something's not coming off my tongue quite right
The beetles are blacker than they've been before
Everything I thought I'd forgiven
Is given

The wolves

There is a sense in which everything is coloured by the in-between-ness of one's life.

Yes.

And that whenever one tries to pick one's self up, one is suddenly brought to a halt.

By the wolves, mother?

Yes. By history. Philip. Ill-positioned cutlery. The whole bally upside down circus that's banged around in my head since the accident.

Popcorn

How long did you wait for your future to arrive?

Long.

Ha! I went home to watch the boxing.

An unwanted bee swarm (or Christ-like kindness)

An elderly Russian couple came on a 40-degree day. They jerked around in puffy suits and barely spoke (to me, in English).

Two weeks later they returned with a jar of honey.

Christ-like opportunism

They took the box of vegies as well as the hand-made bench it was sitting on. But they left the sign 'Free. Please take.'
